jason_lockhart2000 asked:

who exactly is responsible for a typical navy ship for fire safety, like extinguishers and stuff. does this person have to complete their check before it leaves port? or is that step skipped often due to the economy?

I believe the fire crew is typically assigned. All sailors are given rudimentary training in fire control since there aren’t any fire trucks on the open seas.
